A newly "cool" scene, where trendy new art galleries, very good restaurants, clubs and boutiques mingle with the old tenement neighborhood of the immigrant Jews and Latinos.  The  Tenement Museum commemorates this immigrant past.

The interesting mix of stops includes tastings as diverse as homemade gelato, an old fashioned candy store, knishes, bagels and lox, cheeses and the freshest doughnuts.
