SAVORY SOJOURNS |
At Home in Greenwich Village
![]() |
Arrive at the home of Addie Tomei (owner/founder of Savory Sojourns) in historic Greenwich Village for a light breakfast of coffee, fruit, bread and pastries. Gary and Addie Tomei's home is an exquisite example of a Greek Revival-style townhouse dating from 1845, right in the heart of the Village. |
From Addie's home we will embark on a delightful walking tour passing some of New York's most historically significant homes, including those that once belonged to Aaron Burr, Washington Irving and Edna St. Vincent Millay to name a few. Nestled among the Village's cobbled streets and colonial architecture are other significant sites, including a speakeasy dating from long before prohibition. |
You will be escorted to the section of Bleecker Street where many traditional Italian food stores are still thriving. We will see a famous cheese store, a noted pizzeria, an olive oil store, a butcher, a pork store a gourmet market and an Italian bakery. |
Lunch on this tour will be at a typically charming neighborhood restaurant. |
